2012, Great Britain. The editor Timothy Cavendish knows a financial success when an author whom he publishes throws a famous literary critic down from a building, killing instantly he to the general surprise. Nevertheless his creditors absorb the major part of its profits so that, when the brothers of hiscustomer come to find him so that heputs back tothem under 12 pm the sum of 50 000 pounds, he has no means to pay them. He calls in for help to his brother, who gives him(her) the address of a safe and discreet boarding house. Tim Cavendish is going to hide in this pension, which turns out to be in reality, on one hand old house of the composer Ayrs, on the other hand a quasi-prison for the persons who are interned there. With three other companions, he succeeds in escaping from this "prison", from his guards and from his sadistic nurse.
